1. The logo of Ferrari, the famous black horse with the initials S and F underneath it is a tribute to a famous Italian Air Force pilot who died in World War 1 called Francesco Baracca. Several years after World War 1 ended, Enzo Ferrari took a trip to meet with Baraccas mother in 1923 and discussed, among other things, how he used to have an image of a horse on the side of his aeroplanes. It was suggested that Ferrari used a similar image for the logo of his cars.

The S.F. initials stand for Scuderia Ferrari, which when translated into English roughly means Ferrari stable, which in turn is used as a way of meaning team Ferrari.
