Bon Jovi Tickets – Tony Awards and Philadelphia Soul
Bon Jovi’s name has been scattered all across the media lately for band members’ contributions to the entertainment scene. Keyboardist David Bryan was given a Tony Award for his work on the musical “Memphis”, while Jon Bon Jovi will no longer be part of the reconstituted indoor football arena team the Philadelphia Soul. Meanwhile, Bon Jovi continues to tour around the world in support of Circle Tour. The guys keep fans up to date on their new Circle Tour Road Blog, but the best experience for fans is to have Bon Jovi tickets online for yourself.
The Tony Awards are a momentous occasion and this year was no exception. Yet what set the coveted awards show apart were the rock stars – Bryan was honored with Best Original Score while “Memphis” also picked up Best Musical and Best Orchestrations. It was the first Bon Jovi concert in 23 years that Bryan had to miss, but it was well worth it. Meanwhile Jon Bon Jovi has left his post as owner of the Philadelphia Soul, a team that will return to the Arena Football League after a two year hiatus. “I have fond memories of my experience with the Soul and especially our 2008 Arena Bowl championship season,” he said in a statement. “I continue to be a fan of the team and want nothing but continued success on and off the field for the Soul.”
The group Bon Jovi found its sound in New Jersey native Jon Bon Jovi, who started playing music young at his cousin’s studio the Power Station. After a few tries the hit “Runaway” became a local favorite and pushed Jovi to record tracks with David Bryan, Dave Sabo, Alec John Such and Tico Torres. Sabo was replaced by Richie Sambora by the time a record deal was signed with Polygram/ Mercury, and the group released their eponymous debut. The sophomore effort 7800 Fahrenheit followed, going gold, with 1986’s Slippery When Wet working as the group’s breakthrough. It featured “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Wanted Dead or Alive” and “You Give Love a Bad Name” to help Slippery When Wet sell nine million copies and make Bon Jovi a household name.
New Jersey, 1988’s album, followed with five million copies and the singles “Bad Medicine,” “I’ll Be There for You,” “Born to Be My Baby,” “Lay Your Hands on Me” and “Living in Sin.” The fifth album, Keep the Faith, appeared in 1992 after the group’s first brief hiatus. The first greatest hits album Cross Road appeared in 1994, followed by 1995’s These Days.
Two years later Jon Bon Jovi released his first solo album Destination Anywhere, which was the start of the entire group going off on their own. In 2000 Bon Jovi returned with Crush, which sold eight million copies. Bounce was the group’s eighth studio set, followed by the acoustic classic release This Left Brand Viagra Feels Right. Have a Nice Day appeared later that year, with Lost Highway and The Circle closing out the decade.
