Car Hire in The Cayman Islands
Have you ever been to that jewel of the Caribbean The Cayman Islands? How would you like to visit Stingray City or send a postcard from hell?
Does the thought of crystal clear turquoise water and white sand appeal? How about warm welcomes and great hospitality, want to go? I know I do!
The Cayman Islands are 3 beautiful islands set in the waters of the Caribbean north of Jamaica and south of Cuba, renowned for their financial dealings yet these islands offer magical holidays as well.
Car hire on any of the islands may not be strictly necessary but if you want to explore and get away on your own, renting a car can allow you the freedom and independence to discover the islands your way.
After all, it’s not everywhere that you can say you drove to hell and back and be telling the truth! Where is hell then I hear you ask, it’s on Grand Cayman in the north of the island at West Bay. Hell is a series of natural limestone pillars covering about half a football field, you can’t actually walk amongst the pillars of hell but there are two viewing platforms and it is said the devil himself serves visitors in the shops that have sprung up here, some with quotations from the bible on the outside (well with the devil wandering about just outside the pillars of hell you can’t be too careful!)
When you’ve had enough of hell, you could go and visit Stingray City, between Morgan Harbor and Rum Point it’s a collection of sand bars where the rays have learned to congregate to get fed. You can stand waist deep in the water Brand Cialis and the rays will rub their bellies across your legs or outstretched hands, this is their way of saying feed me.
The rays can be up to six feet across and although they have no teeth, they do have a barbed tail!
When you’ve had enough of hell and Stingray City you may want to hop into your hire car and drive north of George Town to the Seven Mile Beach (which due to erosion is now only about 5.5 miles long!)
This beach has recently been voted the The Caribbean’s Best Beach by Caribbean Travel and Life Magazine. It is the most commercialized area where there Silagra are many fine hotels and condos as well as private residences but the beach itself is public property and you can allow you dog off the leash whilst you grill on the beach if you wish.
Loud music and public nudity are the two things that are strictly frowned upon.
After a full day of going to hell and back, stroking and feeding stingrays and walking the 5.5 miles of Seven Mile Beach you may want to just chill out in the evening and the Caymans offer such diverse dining that you’re sure to find something to suit. From sea food to steaks, Italian to French and all the shades in between, local cuisine is as you would expect from an island strongly based on seafood.
Whatever your taste, you’ll be spoiled to make this choice!
