The Dave Matthews Band is known for their full schedules during the summer months and 2010 is looking no different. DMB and Jack Johnson will serve as the event’s headliners, while other notable artists and bands are also slated to appear on the bill like Train, My Morning Jacket, Cypress Hill, Weezer, Slightly Stoopid, Atmosphere and the Drive-By Truckers. In other band news, the group is getting ready to release the Dave Matthews Band Live Trax series, a collection that documents their July 6, 1997 appearance at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif.; the night’s opening act Los Lobos is also featured in the archival footage. A note from the band members that was posted on jambands.com reads: “Highlights of the summer ’97 Shoreline show include the debut release of ‘Leave Me Praying and the cover of Daniel Lanois’ ‘For the Beauty of Wynona’ featuring Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin on Sax and David Hidalgo on electric guitar.” Be sure to take a step back in time with this classic footage.
Devoted fans will remember way back when to the days when Dave Matthews was playing gigs in small clubs and bars and eventually on college campuses around the U.S. This was in the early 1990s, and since then the jam band has released several platinum-selling albums and embarked on numerous national and world tours, most of which involved sold-out shows at large stadiums and arenas.
It all started with the debut effort Under the Table and Dreaming, which dropped in 1994 and featured the successful hit single “What Would You Say.” As it turned out that wasn’t the only track that caught the attention of listeners. Other popular songs included “Ants Marching” and “Satellite.” This was just the beginning for Cialis Professional the group as they continued to build their fanbase through the rest of the decade, releasing the smash hit album Crash in 1996, which garnered them a Grammy nod for the single “Crash into Me.”
In addition to releasing full-length studio sets, the group also focused their efforts on their live performances and set about recording several of their concerts. Live at Red Rocks 8.15.95, Live at Folsom Field, Live at Luther College, The Central Park Concert, The Gorge and Weekend on the Rocks are just a few of the live sets that the band has released, each to enormous success.
The band’s most recent offering was Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, a full-length set that was issued in summer 2009. It went onto receive critical acclaim from critics and even earned the group a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year.
