If you do go shopping, make sure to stop by Union Square. It is full of upscale boutiques, department stores, art galleries and more.

Another popular shopping destination is The Cannery. What used to be home to the fruit canning plant of Del Monte is now the residence of many unique shops and restaurants.

The Cannery was originally built in 1907 and has award-winning architecture. Not only will you enjoy the European charm of this popular destination, but it is also located right on the waterfront, providing top notch views of the bay.

One last thing to check out while in the Bay Area is the beach. The water is pretty cold, so you probably won’t go swimming, but you can still enjoy the beautiful sites and relax as you watch the waves.

Ocean Beach is considered to be the most popular of the beaches. It is also the largest and will provide a great getaway from the city.

As you can see, heading to San Francisco doesn’t have to be an expensive trip. There are plenty of fun and exciting things to do and see for the whole family without spending a fortune.
