The news that Seinfeld will direct his friend, comedian and Saturday Night Live album Colin Quinn, in an off-Broadway one-man show called Long Story Short arrived one day after Seinfeld celebrated the 20th anniversary of his famous sitcom.

Long Story Short will play a limited engagement at the Bleecker Street Theatre in New York City for eight weeks in August and is Quinn’s comedic covering of over 2,000 years of civilization in a mere 75 minutes.

Seinfeld may have gone off the air in 1998, but that doesn’t mean that Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza (played by Jason Alexander), Elaine Benes (played by Julia-Louis Dreyfus) and Cosmo Kramer (played by Michael Richards) don’t continue to invade living rooms across the globe each day, as the sitcom is one of the most heavily syndicated programs on television.
