Kenny Chesney is known for his country music rather than his filmmaking, but he is currently making the rounds promoting his new film. Despite the seeming change in roles, the film is actually a concert film of Kenny Chesney’s performances over last summer. Titled Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3-D, the film is set to be released April 21. He is promoting the new film by making the touring rounds. On April 9, he stopped by to see the Queen of Daytime at The Oprah Winfrey Show. During his appearance, he also showed video from a visit to Key West, Fla. From there, he will go on to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on April 15.

His schedule in April continues to stay busy, as he is set to be a performer at the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 18. The ACM Awards will be hosted by veteran host Reba McEntire and will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Chesney is one of the confirmed performers, as are other country stars like Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Brooks & Dunn and Jason Aldean. Chesney is also up for multiples ACM Awards. He is up for the coveted Entertainer of the Year Award, facing off against Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band. His other nominations are for Top Male Vocalist of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year (for “I’m Alive” with Dave Matthews).

The awards season will continue for Chesney on June 9, when the CMT Music Awards airs live from Nashville. Chesney is up for Video of the Year (for “Out Last Night”), Male Video of the Year (for “Out Last Night”) and Collaborative Video of the Year (for “I’m Alive” with Dave Matthews). The voting has already opened for the show, and the field will be narrowed to four nominees per category on May 11.

Chesney is returning to his first love-touring-this May. In May and July, he will be playing at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. On top of those dates, he is also set to play at a variety of festivals in late spring and summer.
