Chicago Bulls Vice President John Paxson should be used to seeing the expressions on the faces of his players after they were handed a crushing defeat by LeBron James and the Cavaliers in Cleveland. He used to see the same look on the faces of players all the time when he used to play alongside Michael Jordan. After playing one of their best overall games of the season, the Chicago Bulls simply had no answer for LeBron down the stretch in the second game of the opening round playoff series, a game in which King James ended up with 40 points, eight assists and eight rebounds. Just like with MJ, there was a stretch in the fourth quarter when he was able to do anything he wanted on the court, and it just didn’t matter who head coach Vinny Del Negro decided to put on him.

In the game, played April 19th, the Bulls looked considerably stronger than an eighth seed. Backed by another strong game by Derrick Rose and a monster game by Joakim Noah, the Bulls were even with the Cavs through three quarters and stayed with them deep into the fourth quarter. But the Bulls were not ready for LeBron’s offensive explosion. Within a matter of just a few minutes, LeBron cashed a deep three in Noah’s face, dropped well-defended jump shots prescription cialis online on Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich and soared through the lane for a smooth left-handed layup. LeBron also would add a couple free throws to his scoring binge and had a key block on Rose as the Bulls tried to claw back into the game. Though the easy comparison for such a dominant stretch is with Michael Jordan, LeBron is no MJ. Then again, he doesn’t have to be. While many people want LeBron to be the next Jordan, his style is almost completely different and to simply refer to him as the next MJ is actually selling LeBron short. This isn’t to say that LeBron is a better individual player than Jordan, though the argument can be made, but LBJ’s style is Kamagra Gold so unique that comparing him to Jordan is a very crude and superficial analogy. If anything, he’s a combination of Jordan’s overall abilities, Magic Johnson’s passing IQ and Dominique Wilkins’ power dunking. Overall, this certainly is helping sell NBA Playoff tickets, but his game deserves to be looked at on its own merits without forcing an awkward comparison.

The one downside to such individual dominance, however, is that it is easy for the rest of the team to become complacent. Though you can hardly blame LeBron for shooting when he doesn’t seem capable of missing, he won’t be able to carry the team on his back in this way throughout the playoffs if he wants to win an NBA title. He’s already tried that and each time he came up short, which is strikingly similar to what Jordan went through early in his postseason career. LeBron will need key contributions from Antawn Jamison, Mo Williams and Shaquille O’Neal to have a shot. Until he needs them, though, it’s fun to watch one of the all-time greats light up the scoreboard as few ever have before. Perhaps it’s even for the best that Chicago fans get a taste of what it was like to be on the other side of a scoring binge from the best player in the game.
