NBA Tickets – Mid-First Round Draft Projection
Here is how I think picks 11-20 will play out in the 2010 NBA Draft:
New Orleans Hornets – Paul George, Small Forward, Fresno State: I think Cole Aldrich is a real possibility here and Patrick Patterson could be as well, but a swing for the fences like George makes sense. Whether they keep Chris Paul or not, the Hornets could really use another player that can create his own shot on offense. George has star potential but he’s a risk, though one worth taking if they want to move forward as an organization.
Memphis Grizzlies – Luke Babbitt, Small Forward, Nevada: Babbitt might not be a name that will sell NBA tickets, but he can score the basketball, which is something that the Grizzlies could need from the three spot if Rudy Gay leaves this summer. The Grizzlies have supposedly been high on him for a while now.
Toronto Raptors – Eric Bledsoe, Point Guard, Kentucky: The Raptors are reportedly shopping both of their point guards and Bledsoe is the type of guy that would add some toughness to this relatively soft team. I’m very high on him and I think he’ll end up being much better than most people expect. He needs to learn how to run a team, but he can defend, has an NBA body and can hit perimeter shots.
Houston Rockets – Xavier Henry, Shooting Guard, Kansas: Henry could end up being a steal here and the number-crunchers love him, two things that scream Daryl Morey. Cialis Professional He’d be a rotation player on a likely playoff team from day one in Houston with potential to grow into more than that over time.
Milwaukee Bucks – Patrick Patterson, Power Forward, Kentucky: Patterson is a good fit for the Bucks because he’s ready to contribute and will bring toughness to the Milwaukee front line. It’s possible that he could start alongside Andrew Bogut down low and be a key contributor in 2010-11.
Minnesota Timberwolves – Cole Aldrich, Center, Kansas: This would be a great situation for the Wolves. They desperately need a true center that can rebound and defend. While Aldrich measured out a bit shorter than expected, he’s a center and should have a long career in the league, though his upside is limited and he doesn’t bring a whole lot to the table on offense.
Chicago Bulls – James Anderson, Shooting Guard, Oklahoma State: The Bulls need a starting two-guard and Anderson could be that guy from day one. He’s ready to contribute offensively right away, though he lacks the outside shooting that the Bulls covet. Still, it would be a solid pick.
Oklahoma City Thunder – Solomon Alabi, Center, Florida State: The Thunder need help in the middle and Alabi is worth the gamble. He’s the biggest player in this draft and could be a defensive force in time. They’ve got multiple picks in the first round, so they’re in a position to take some risks.
Boston Celtics – Avery Bradley, Guard, Texas: The Celtics don’t really have a backup point guard. Nate Robinson played the position in the postseason, but he might not be back and is primarily a scorer. Bradley isn’t a pure point either, but he can defend and knock down outside shots. He’d make sense in the Boston backcourt.
San Antonio Spurs – Damion James, Forward, Texas: James is a good fit for a Spurs Kamagra Gold team that is looking to get younger. He’d be able to provide solid minutes at the three or four immediately and give the team another young role player to move forward with. Center could also be an option here, but it sounds like Tiago Splitter is ready to join the team.
