The end of the first round is very difficult to predict, but here is my best guess on how things will go down in the NBA Draft:
Oklahoma City Thunder – Craig Brackins, Power Forward, Iowa State: Brackins would have been a lottery pick last year if he’d declared for the draft, and I haven’t soured on him as much as most people. His inside-outside game will secure a place for him in the league and the Thunder are just the type of franchise to capitalize on him this late.

Portland Trail Blazers – Kevin Seraphin, Power Forward, France: Seraphin is an unknown to the casual fan, but I really like him as a prospect. He’s raw, but he’s already got an NBA body and plays strong around the rim. The Serge Ibaka comparisons fit. The Blazers could stash him overseas for a season if they wanted to. Eventually he’d bring a toughness to their frontcourt that is definitely needed.

Minnesota Timberwolves – Larry Sanders, Power Forward, VCU: The Wolves need frontcourt players that can defend and could definitely cialis cheap use Sanders’ athleticism. He’s a project, but one with major upside.

Atlanta Hawks – Hassan Whiteside, Center, Marshall: The Hawks don’t have a true center going forward, as Al Horford usually plays in the middle for them when he’s really a four. Whiteside is a project, but he could end up developing into a defensive force. He’s got some character and work ethic concerns, but the risk is warranted this late in the draft.

Memphis Grizzlies – Jordan Crawford, Shooting Guard, Xavier: While they had a very good starting five last season, the Grizzlies had an extremely thin bench. Crawford would give them a scoring spark off the pine that could help take this team to the next level in 2010-11. He’s got the exciting offensive game to help the franchise sell NBA tickets as well.

Oklahoma City Thunder – Daniel Orton, Center, Kentucky: It’s hard to see the Thunder keeping all three of their first-round picks, but for the sake of the exercise I have to pick someone for them. Center is the Thunder’s weakest position, so taking a risk on Orton’s immense talent makes sense. There have been rumors that the Thunder gave Orton a promise, but I don’t think that’s true. I do think they like him, though, and would give him a serious look this late in the first round.

New Jersey Nets – Devin Ebanks, Small Forward, West Virginia: Ebanks should be, at the very least, a solid defender and rebounder for his position. The Nets need depth all around and Ebanks has a lot of upside at this point in the draft.

Memphis Grizzlies – Tibor Pleiss, Center, Germany: I doubt Memphis keeps all three of their first-rounders, but if they do, stashing Pleiss in Europe would be a good insurance policy to have in the event Hasheem Thabeet busts.

Orlando Magic – Darington Hobson, Small Forward, New Mexico: He’s a poor man’s Evan Turner and has the playmaking skills that the Magic like. He’s a got a little Hedo Turkoglu in him, which, believe it or not, is a good thing in this case.

Washington Wizards – Quincy Pondexter, Small Forward, Washington: He’s a big-time athlete, if nothing else, and would be a solid young piece to add to the rebuilding process at a position of weakness for the team.
