Pitchfork Music Festival Tickets – Festival Features Impressive Lineup
Music festival season officially kicked off with the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, Calif. on April 16. From Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn. to the return of Lilith Fair, it’s hard to pick which one to attend! For those either living in the Midwest or planning to take a trip to Chicago, however, the choice is easy: Pitchfork Music Festival. Held in the Windy City’s Union Park, the 2010 festival will take place on July 16, 17 and 18 and its impressive lineup will make Pitchfork Music Festival tickets coveted across the country. The show is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year and while other music festivals may get more press, Pitchfork’s 2010 lineup is earning ample buzz.
Although the lineup for the first day of the Festival may be shorter than the other two days, it makes up in talent what it may lack in size. Modest Mouse, Broken Social Scene, Robyn, Liars, El-P, the Tallest Man on Earth and Sharon Can Etten will all perform at the festival on July 16. The Festival return performers, Canadian collective Broken Social Scene, will be Kamagra Gold performing songs off their latest full-length album, Forgiveness Rock Record, while fans of the night’s other headliner, Modest Mouse, are hoping for some new tracks as well.
LCD Soundsystem will headline the second day of the Union Park event, sharing the July 17 bill with the likes of Animal Collective member Panda Bear, Wolf Parade, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Titus Andronicus, Raekwon, Delorean, the Smith Westerns, Free Energy, Bear in Heaven, Kurt prescription cialis online Vile and more. LCD Soundsystem released its most recent album, This Is Happening, over a month prior to its official May 18 release date after tracks leaked online. The band warmed up with a gig at Coachella, wowing fans with new tracks like “Change.”
On Sun., July 18, artists like Pavement, Big Boi, Major Lazer, St. Vincent, Beach House, Girls, Local Natives, CAVE, Sleigh Bells, Cass McCombs, Neon Indian, Surfer Blood, Here We Go Magic and Washed Out will close the 2010 edition of the Festival. Fans of influential indie rock act Pavement rejoiced when the band announced plans to reunite this year after splitting up in 1999 and the news of their addition to the bill is enough for Pitchfork Music Festival tickets, which are available online, become major sellers.
Ever since Pitchfork Media, whose site has become a sort of mecca for indie rock fans, launched the Pitchfork Music Festival in 2006, it has stood out among the many summer festivals around the country. The inaugural Pitchfork Music Festival featured performances by the likes of the Walkmen, Spoon, Devendra Banhart, Aesop Rock, Band of Horses, Art Brut and more and over the years has featured notable acts like Yoko Ono, Sonic Youth, Girl Talk, Public Enemy, Built to Spill, the National, Animal Collective, Dinosaur Jr. and more. The economy may be on the upswing, but we’re guessing music fans still appreciate the modest ticket prices offered by the organizers of the Pitchfork Music Festival, as well.
