Sugarland Tickets – Sugarland Adds Multiple CMT Award Nominations
Sugarland is no longer considered one of the rookie groups in country music. In fact, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush could easily be labeled tried-and-true performers in the country scene. By the looks of things, their Tadalis SX star is only on the rise with every new album. Their respect in the music scene was apparent when this year’s CMT Music Awards nominations list was released. Along with Lady Antebellum and Jason Aldean, Sugarland leads the nominations with four. The ninth annual CMT Music Awards will be held on June 9 at 8 p.m. in Nashville and will be shown live.
Sugarland landed two separate nominations in the Duo Video of the Year category, for “Keep You” and “Nightswimming/Joey.” Brooks & Dunn (who are in their final year as a duo) also have two nominations in the category, for “Indian Summer” and “My Maria (Invitation Only).” Also nominated in the category are Joey & Rory for “Play the Song,” Steel Magnolia for “Keep on Lovin’ You,” Caitlin & Will for “Address in the Stars” and Bomshel for “Fight Like a Girl.”
Sugarland’s next nomination is for Collaborative Video of the Year for their performance of “Love Shack” with the B-52s. They are up against Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift (“Best Days of Your Life”), Jason Aldean and Bryan Adams (“Heaven”), Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins (“Hillbilly Bone”), Brooks & Dunn and Billy Gibbons (“Honky Tonk Stomp”), Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews (“I’m Alive”), John Mellencamp and Karen Fairchild (“Ride Back Home”) and Shooter Jennings and Cialis Jamey Johnson (“Somewhere Between Jennings and Jones [from CMT Crossroads]”). Their performance with the B-52s was also nominated for CMT Performance of the Year, where they will go up against Reba McEntire, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley and Jason Aldean with Bryan Adams.
Kristian Bush may be a little out of his element for the band’s upcoming set of tour dates, and not because he gets stage fright. Instead, he and Nettles are set to be part of the female-dominated Lilith Fair tour. The buzz has been growing around the 2010 Lilith Fair, as it has been over a decade since the last Lilith Fair. The Fair kicks off in Calgary, Alberta on June 17 and continues throughout the U.S. and Canada, hitting spots like Seattle, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Boston and more.
Fans can find tickets for Lilith Fair, as well as other Sugarland tickets online. For Lilith Fair, Sugarland will be joined by artists from a variety of genres like Sheryl Crow, Colbie Caillat, Erykah Badu, Kelly Clarkson, Loretta Lynn, Mary J. Blige and Miranda Lambert.
Billboard Magazine featured an article in April on Sugarland, where Nettles revealed that the duo is working on a new album. The new release has a working title of The Incredible Machine and will be a follow-up to their successful third album, Love on the Inside. Nettles revealed the album brings in influences outside of country and explained, “I describe it emotionally as bungee jumping and eating chocolate cake. It’s terrifying and gratifying, all at the same time.”
