Even if you are new to the game and haven’t played before, you can still be a valuable asset to your team. But there are a few things that you need to do so that you don’t make a fool of yourself in front of your friends:

Always listen to the referee: Yes, it is very possible for referees to make bad calls, which you cannot control. What you can control is how you react to the officiator.

Many players mouth off to referees because they are angry. This not only doesn’t change the call at all, but it angers the referee, which might result in them calling more fouls on your team out of spite.

You can imagine how angry your team would be with you if you were the one that catalyzed all the referee’s calls against your team. Do yourself a favor and compose yourself, even if the officiator is entirely in the wrong!

Don’t stop moving: This is one thing that many Americans might struggle with. We are used to stop-and-go sports like basketball and football.

This is entirely different from the world of soccer. Players are always moving, which is why they always have great endurance.

If you are playing, you need to always be moving, or other players will think that you are lazy and they will not bother to pass to you.

Purposely hitting someone could result in you receiving a red card from the officiators. This could get you thrown on the game and leave your team in a real bind with one less person.

It is just better to play it safe and avoid hitting people at all costs. You will better be able to focus on the ball and your strategy instead of trying it.
