Switch Computers

Take your drive out and put it in an older PC and see if it will run okay. If it does, then the problem is probably in your motherboard. Start in Safe Mode

Different computers and operating systems use different methods for starting in safe mode, so look up the shortcuts list online if you don’t have it handy. It’s always a good idea, though, to keep backups of everything you need, either on discs or on another computer or a zip drive or online. This way, when computers fail, you at least won’t have lost a whole lot of work.
