Entering the list in fourth and fifth place were the two other top 10 Canadian cities – Toronto, with 97.2 points and Calgary, with 96.6.

4. It’s a continually growing country – data from Statistics Canada shows that the country has increased in population every single year over the past 160 years. A population of just over 2,400,000 people was recorded in 1851 and a century and a half later in 2001, there were officially 31,021,000 people calling Canada their home.

Whilst you may think that this means nothing but that you will be part of a growing statistic, it actually means a lot more. A growing population generally means a growing economy and with a growing economy there is very often an increase in jobs and other important liveable aspects, including recreation facilities, as well as an increase in the general happiness of the population.

5. There is so much to see and do – even if you’ve been living in Canada for 12 months and manage to take a trip to an attraction or place of interest every week or two, you still wouldn’t have seen even a small percentage of everything there is to see in Canada.
