Ease Chronic Pain Naturally

Chronic pain can have a variety of sources. Sometimes its cause is rooted in a concrete medical condition, but on other occasions, it is caused by other issues such as poor posture or a worn-out mattress. But regardless of the situation that causes the constant ache, it can be a source of tremendous frustration.

You should know, however, that if you suffer from chronic pain, but you don’t want to be hassled by constant trips to the doctor and burdensome prescription medications, there are ways you can reduce or even eliminate your ongoing hurt with natural remedies.

I have found in my battle with fibromyalgia that applying heat provides one of the quickest remedies, particularly for muscular aches. The wonderful thing about this is that there is a wide variety of ways to use heat.

Electric heating pads, microwaved cloth packs filled rice, or even a trip to the local sauna are all delightfully relaxing. You need to be careful with the former two, as they can burn your skin. Never fall asleep with a heating pad against your skin. You would think that you might wake up if it were burning you, but I have developed blisters from making this mistake.

Spending time in a sauna or steam bath for a few minutes several times a week can have tremendous benefits not only for your muscles, but for your entire body. Sweating in the quarters of a sauna can rid your body of toxins, which can diminish the appearance of cellulite and freshen your complexion!

On the other hand, you might also try the application of a cold sensation. Take a dip in the pool or freeze a pack of rice and press it to the tender area like you would with a heating pad. It doesn’t work well for me, but it has for others!

Make the time to go for a massage. Consult with a massage therapist to find out what sort of treatment is going to work best for you. I have found deep tissue massage to be incredibly helpful, but it may be too much for you. So don’t barrel into a particular type of massage based on the recommendation of someone who isn’t a professional.

Get into the habit of stretching out every morning and evening. You may even want to look into yoga Levitra classes or videos. I have found this releases much of the tension in my joints and muscles and sets me up for a day with less pain.
