The Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center is located in Alpharetta, Georgia and has miles of walking trails, a Heritage Village with original buildings and artifacts from the mid 1800s to the mid 1900s, animal exhibits and replicas of Native American dwellings. All activities on the grounds are free.

First Thursdays Art Walk in the Downtown area goes down the first week of each month. Downtown galleries open their doors in the evening for three hours of free viewing from 5 pm until 8 pm.

Fulton County Free Saturdays at the HIGH Museum is only free for Fulton County Residents or students attending a college or university in Fulton County. They must show an ID or proof of residency.

On the first Saturday of every month, the High welcomes its residents for free. The residents are welcome to view the current exhibits as well as the permanent collection.

Current exhibits admission is subject to availability. And, this costs money for non residents to attend.

Goecaching is a worldwide scavenger hunt for small boxes known as caches. They are hidden all around us in public places, and goecaching is designed to be done using a GPS, though sometimes you can hunt using familiar landmarks and clues from their website.

The Kennesaw Mountain National Battleground Park offers parking and admission for free. A shuttle bus is provided at the top of the mountain which costs $2 for adults and $1 for children or you can take on the mountain yourself and hike to the top.

This is 18 miles of hiking trails within the park, an onsite museum and various special events like history reenactments in the summertime. This is guaranteed family fun.

The King Center is another free attraction which is dedicated to showcasing the life and works of Martin Luther King Jr. Visitors can also view his resting place and first home from 9 am until 5 pm daily.

Also, the Starlight Drive In is the only old fashioned drive in movie theater in Atlanta. It is a unique experience that kids will find fun, new and exciting. Admission is $7 per person, but children from ages 3 to 9 only have to pay $1 for entry.

Children under the age of 3 get in for free, and all shows are double features. This way, you can get two movies for less than the price of one at a normal theater.
