Once you have been accepted into a good dental school, prepare for another four years of studying before you can graduate. Usually you will have two years of basic medicine and dental sciences and then two more years of clinical training.

To start practicing, you must get your license and take an ethics/jurisprudence exam in whatever state you are planning on working in. Most states will accept the regional board examination while others may only accept an independent licensing exam before they will let you practice in that state.
