The world is going on without me. There are murders, homicides, rapes and abuse that I will never know about. Natural disasters; earthquakes, typhoons, hurricanes and storms that will go on without my knowledge. An ostrich your say, sticking my head in the sand. No, just someone who wants to appreciate the flowers growing in my garden, the fresh tomatoes outside my back door, a good book, my children and grandchildren playing happily, a park on a summers evening listening to live music. We life in a day of beauty and advancement, art and music and advancements never before enjoyed in the history of the world. Why do we focus on the negative and kill our spirits in the process.

We have indoor plumbing. Have you ever stopped to put that on your blessing or gratitude list? Think about it for just one minute. Indoor plumbing. We aren’t dredging out to the outhouse at one o’clock in the morning to do our duty. We simple stumble out of bed and are back in in minutes. We have clean, running water, right at our finger tips. Clean, drinkable water, a washing machine were clean water in piped in and the dirty water is piped out. Amazing. A dishwasher, water ran to the refrigerator, sinks, toilets all right in our homes with very little thought process on our part.

I think part of the “turn off the negative” is stopping to appreciate the positives. The incredible lives that we get to live. If our plumbing has problems we simply pick up the phone, call the local Atlanta Plumbing company and within 24 hours everything is up and running smoothly again. It is a great time to be alive. We have more than any people ever in the history of the world. Why don’t they talk about that on the evening news? Why don’t they shout the little conveniences and blessings from the Silagra news station. A five great reasons to be alive today, moment? I don’t know, but until they do I am going back to my flowers and focus on the positive things of live, because they are plentiful!
