Jack Johnson Tickets – Taking Fans to the Sea in New York City
Singer/songwriter Jack Johnson recently performed at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The venue seemed to be an unlikely choice because Johnson traditionally prefers the style of smaller, more intimate theaters. Johnson is not Aerosmith, Bon Jovi or Tim McGraw; his music by definition is mellow. The happy surf-inspired tunes make it easy to imagine a day at the beach, daydreaming to the sound of gentle waves, and Madison Square Garden seems a far cry away from sun and surf.
Nevertheless, the Hawaiian-born musician “managed to turn a cavernous, 20,000-seat arena into a campfire sing-along,” according to an article by ABC News. Don’t miss seeing him transform a stage near you into a festive beach excursion by going online and purchasing Jack Johnson tickets today!
The concert in the Big Apple featured a number of duets alongside fellow Hawaiian singer Paula Fuga and had Johnson serenading audience members with some of his most beloved tunes. Several ballads heard over the course of the evening included “You and Your Heart,” “Sitting, Wishing, Waiting,” “Breakdown,” “Banana Pancakes,” “Better Together,” “Staple It Together” and “Times Like These.”
Jack Johnson is currently on tour supporting his latest release, To the Sea. He has numerous stops marked on his calendar, with some of the upcoming cities including Salt Lake City, Utah; Denver Colo.; Bonner Springs, Kan.; Dallas, Texas; Atlanta, Ga.; Charlotte, N.C. and Tampa, Fla. To the Sea debuted at the top of the Billboard chart upon its release.
Johnson’s debut album arrived in 2001 to great fanfare. Called Brushfire Fairytales, it featured a charming collection of tracks including “Flake,” “Bubble Toes,” “Fortunate Fool” and “It’s All Understood.” It was our first listen at his laidback style and listeners were instantly hooked to his soft melodies.
Luckily fans did not have to wait very long to get a second dose of Jack Johnson tunes, as he released On and On just one year later. As with his debut, the sophomore effort includes a set list of soothing songs and on this effort, Johnson offers a bit more in the way of social commentary. Outstanding tracks include “Times Like These,” “Taylor” and “Tomorrow Morning.”
In Between Dreams was the next studio album that hit the shelves and the track list included a variety of playful tunes bound to please any devoted Jack fan. Some songs included “Better Together,” “Breakdown” and “Do You Remember.”
Johnson followed up with the children-oriented Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George, which put him on the top of the charts. This festive album was in stark contrast to his next release, Sleep through the Static, which exhibited a little bit of a darker mood (although it’s still hard to describe any of his songs as “dark”).
Finally, his latest record arrived in June 2010 and is a sweet tribute to his late father. To the Sea features a decent collection of radio-friendly hits like “You and Your Heart,” “To the Sea” and “My Little Girl.” Check out the album and be sure to score a pair of tickets to see Johnson perform live when he stops in a city near you.
