Mastering Wall Light Placement

Wall light fixtures can be successfully utilized to give lamp-like lighting to areas where stand alone lamps are not feasible. They make excellent additions to spaces that can be dark, like entranceways, hallways, stairways, utility rooms, etc., and can add a great deal of personality to higher traffic areas like living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms. There is a large and varied selection of interior wall lights, so finding just the right fixture to meet your design needs is quite easy.

Wall Sconce Fixtures

Wall sconces have become quite popular because they offer a pleasantly aesthetic solution to low light areas. They are perfect additions to entranceways, hallways and stairways; places where a single overhead light isn’t quite enough. Not only do wall sconces provide needed extra light for these areas, but they also provide a decorative accent to such areas.

Sconces also work quite well as lighting accents around mirrors, vanities and fireplaces. Since they are normally used in pairs, they add to the appeal of these areas, as well as giving greater illumination for prepping or highlighting. Tadacip Wall sconces come in a variety of designs, sizes and styles, from the sleek contemporary to traditional and rustic. Some varieties direct the light upwards to reflect off the ceiling, while others are open-ended, shining light both upwards and downwards.

Wall Lighting Brackets

Wall brackets are elongated lighting fixtures which can be attached either horizontally or vertically. These are excellent choices for closets, utility rooms, workshops and other areas where space is limited and extra illumination is needed. Brackets can be obtained in several different lengths to meet specific lighting needs and special requirements.

Puck Lighting Fixtures

Puck lights are another great option for providing more light in small spaced areas where other types of fixtures won’t fit, or fit clumsily, or in spaces where more accent lighting is desired. These fixtures can either be surface mounted or recessed into the wall. These fixtures are especially appealing if one is looking to give a modern or contemporary look to a room.

When less of a spot light affect is required, puck lights also come in low voltage models which radiate a softer light onto an area and require a lot less energy. Puck lights normally come with halogen bulbs, which give a bright radiance to the designated area, or with xenon bulbs which run cooler and provide a longer lamp life.

Wall Lighting Outdoors

Wall lighting isn’t restricted to interior use. Entryways, porches and decks are also wonderfully enhanced by such fixtures. They are commonly applied to either side of an entranceway, but can also be applied to illuminate decks and patios for after dark social gatherings, or to give special lighting effects to the anterior landscaping.
