Michael Buble Tickets – Buble Makes Top Tours Lists
Charts are one way that artists show their power in the music scene. Perhaps an even better way of showing an artist’s relevance, though, is to see how popular his/her tour is. From that mark, Michael Buble is one of the most relevant names in the music world today. Billboard recently released its list of the Top 15 tours from Nov. 28, 2009 to June 19, 2010, and Buble landed at number 18 on the list with a total gross of $21,570,169.
To understand what that ranking means, it is worth looking at the names who accompanied him on the list. Billboard’s list was topped by AC/DC and the Top 25 included Metallica, Bon Jovi, the Eagles, Taylor Swift, The Black Eyed Peas, Jay-Z, Guns N’ Roses, Elton John & Billy Joel, Kiss and many more.
Buble’s tour totals put him on two other top lists, these compiled by Pollstar. Pollstar released two lists: the “Top 100 North American Tours” and the “Top 50 Worldwide Tours.” Both lists take into consideration tour dates from Jan. 1, 2010 to June 30, 2010. Buble was number 10 on the North American tour list with a total gross of $24.6 million from 27 shows in 27 cities. He sold 304,606 tickets for those shows. He was out-ranked on the list by Bon Jovi, James Taylor/Carole King, Taylor Swift, Kamagra Gold Paul McCartney, George Strait/Reba/Lee Ann Womack, the Black Eyed Peas, John Mayer, Tim McGraw and Nickelback.
Pollstar’s worldwide tours list included even more Michael Buble dates, helping him reach number seven on the list. He had 48 shows in 47 cities worldwide, selling 521,739 tickets and grossing $42 million. AC/DC topped the worldwide list with a staggering $177.5 million, followed by Bon Jovi, Metallica, James Taylor/Carole King, the Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga. His tour is still going strong, and fans can find Michael Buble tickets online.
Buble has countless fans who love his emotive style, which is often compared to legends like Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. It may be interesting to learn, though, that his music career only came because of a lack of athletic prowess. Buble hails from Canada, where hockey reigns supreme. He revealed to the DallasStars.com, “I wanted so bad to be a hockey player… If I was any good at hockey, I probably wouldn’t be singing right now.” His fans are likely grateful he didn’t have much luck with the puck!
Buble has been riding high since the release of his self-titled album in 2003. His latest release is 2009’s platinum release Crazy Love, which shot to the number one spot on charts around the world. That album has yielded singles “Haven’t Met You Yet,” “Hold On” and “Cry Me a River.” He has bucked the trend of most up-and-comers on the music scene and decided to keep his sound beautifully classic instead of bending to every gimmick in the pop music world. Buble needs no luck to keep his career in the spotlight for years to come.
