Minnesota Vikings Tickets – Will Brett Favre Be Back?
This offseason has been an interesting one for the Minnesota Vikings, but most of the stories have been eclipsed by the saga Kamagra that is Brett Favre. The million dollar question at this point in the season is: will the veteran quarterback return or will he retire? For those who lived under a rock last season (or for that matter, the offseason before the 2008 season as well), this is not a new debate. Favre retired from the Green Bay Packers following the 2007 season. After retiring, he decided partway through the offseason he wanted to return. He ended up with the New York Jets for the 2008 season.
The 2009 offseason brought more of the same, with everyone wondering whether Favre would be back or retire, and for which team would he play. He ended up with the Minnesota Vikings and had one of the best seasons of his career. He finished with 4,202 yards, 33 touchdowns, seven interceptions and a passer rating of 107.2. He also helped the Vikings top the NFC North with a record of 12-4. After defeating the Dallas Cowboys, they went on to the NFC conference game, only to lose to the eventual Super Bowl champions, the New Orleans Saints.
A hint at which way he is leaning comes from his medical choices since the end of the 2009 season. He opted to have ankle surgery, which puts him in physical condition for another NFL season. Another hint that he may be looking to return to the Vikings came from his comments to the Biloxi Sun Herald, when he said, “I would love to go beat the Saints.” He also went on to say that he has been in conversations with Coach Brad Childress about his decision.
Other players have also weighed in on what they think Favre will do. Quarterback Drew Brees, who led the Saints team that beat the Vikings, threw in a prediction about Favre’s performance this season as well as whether or not he thinks Favre will return. According to Yahoo! Sports, Brees said, “I don’t think there’s any doubt that Brett Favre is coming back, and he’s going to be as good as he’s ever been.” One of Favre’s teammates, star defensive end Jared Allen, also voiced his opinion and said he would put his money on Favre returning this season.
One unintended consequence of the Favre saga last offseason could be the recent hullabaloo around running back Adrian Peterson. Instead of attending a mandatory Vikings practice, Peterson decided to attend Adrian Peterson Day in his hometown of Palestine, Texas. Last offseason, Favre didn’t agree to join the Vikings until after training camp, meaning he missed the entire offseason of mandatory practices with the team. Childress expressed his disappointment with Peterson’s choice, but some analysts are saying his actions are because he wants a new contract. Likely, he will be there when the team heads to training camp at the end of July. The best way to see Peterson (and maybe Favre too) is to get Minnesota Vikings tickets online.
