When my spouse and I purchased our condo, we were fortunate to have found one that had recently been remodeled. The carpet was brand new and chic–the whole house had been painted or wallpapered. Doing this can grant you both extra storage and another stretch of countertop that you so often need when cooking or baking.

Then, of course, take a look at your cabinets. You may be able to fix issues like smudges and stains with a thorough cleaning or painting the surface. You may also be able to create a new look by re-facing–this means that the doors and hinges to your cupboards will be replaced.
