Muse Tickets – Studio Time after Tour Hiatus
Following their performance on the Main Stage at Scotland’s T in the Park, Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme revealed to NME.com that the UK group will be returning to the studio shortly after a brief stage hiatus. The dynamic trio has been making their mark in nearly every avenue possible, with an original single on the Twilight soundtrack, a Glastonbury headlining performance and their recent O2 Silver Clef Award honor.
The new album news, which will follow up 2009’s The Resistance, comes after Roger Taylor of Queen called the group “probably the greatest live act in the world today” during the 35th anniversary of the Silver Clef Awards ceremony. Celebrate the group’s success by purchasing some Muse tickets online today.
Following their T in the Park performance, Wolstenholme said to NME.com, “We’ll definitely start working on a new album next year. I think we’ll definitely take some time off after this touring period because it’s something we’ve never done. I think the most time we’ve had off is about six weeks in the last 12 years, so we’re due a break.” After finishing their three day performance July 9, Muse wraps up the summer with an additional nine festival dates including the Fuji Rock in Japan and Sziget in Hungary, according to Spinner Magazine.
Veterans of the stage, Muse only saw crossover success in North America with their last album. “With America it was something we never really expected to happen,” Wolstenholme continued with NME.com regarding their overseas fame. “So I think it was one of those things we really appreciated.” The group’s Cialis Jelly first album to chart in the States was actually their third album Absolution, though it wouldn’t find the same enthusiasm as Black Holes and Revelations generated. After finding success back home in the UK, Absolution eventually went gold in the U.S. by 2004, but 2006’s Black Holes and Revelations made Muse international sensations.
Black Holes and Revelations topped the UK charts, broke Billboard’s Top 10 and allowed the small town musicians (who all hail from Teignmouth, Devon) to tour in Europe, America, Australia and Southeast Asia. The Resistance was released in September 2009 following the live album and DVD H.A.A.R.P. Live from Wembley that featured music from their crossover success.
While the group has announced possible studio time, it won’t be for a few months. Muse already has a packed summer/fall tour schedule that recently added dates for their Los Angeles Staples Center show. Muse will continue to perform through the end of October before they break for a brief holiday. The stage time comes in support of a full year for The Resistance, an album that went on to top Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Top Modern Rock Albums charts.
Though undoubtedly they have their critics, who have condemned the group’s obvious influences in Queen, Radiohead and U2, Muse has an unlimited amount of fans that are sure to quickly snatch up tickets in a moment’s notice.
