Storage Units: Cushioning Human Nature
Excess and storage always seem to be a part of human lifestyle. It is something most people try and cut down on, but just cannot seem to avoid.
There are many situations in life that end in excess and extra stuff. People hardly ever seem to hit the bar that is “just right.”
First example: Consider going out to a restaurant to eat. You know that you always have the opportunity to ask for something called a “to-go” box.
You may even be the type of person who goes out to eat expecting to have leftovers. This way you’ll have lunch the next day or a snack later.
Either way, you consider it a deal because you basically get two meals for the price of one. And besides, the food is so good, who wouldn’t want to eat it twice?
Next example: Consider you go to a fabric store hoping to create something amazing-whether it be a costume, an article of clothing, or even a blanket. You take a look at your pattern and find that it will take approximately three-fourths of a yard to make the desired product.
You may pay for a little extra-“just in case,” and once again, you are creating excess and storage as is in human nature. Even if you only buy the required three-fourths yard, you will still have scraps leftover; thus following the pattern of rarely meeting the bar of “just right.”
Humans do not want to run out of something; that would strike fear and anxiety. Maybe it is just a defense mechanism that humans were born with: have extra of everything so that they will always have what they need when they need it.
Third Example: Going along with being prepared and having what you need when you need it, the next example is that of financial savings and savings accounts. You may not consider this an example that relates to the other examples in this category of storing and excess.
Although, it is a little more of a different example, it still portrays the same tendency. Mankind even has extra money to store away. Although money may be tight for many people, you rarely, if ever, see someone who tabulates exactly how much money they will spend in a day or even month and then work only enough hours to get exactly that much money.
No, people usually try to work enough hours to pay the bills and then have a little more to save or to use on recreational purposes. The point is that even when it comes to money people find the need to have excess; people do not live just for the moment, but they live to prepare for the future or hard times that may come.
When it comes to humankind’s tendency to store things and provide excess, these are only a few examples. This tendency to store and to hoard excess goes into many areas of people’s lives, including their possessions.
No matter how much you may try to get rid of any excess materials or possessions you may have, the storage just never seems to fully escape you. For one reason or another, you always find yourself with more than you use on a regular basis, but you are not willing to get rid of it.
You probably have holiday items hidden up in a box somewhere that you only get out on the right occasions, or maybe you have special china or tableware that you get out when company comes.
For overnight guests, you may have a spare bedroom just waiting for them to occupy. As well you may have a closet full of extra linens or blankets to use when necessary.
Truth is you probably have many items such as these, just waiting to be used at the right time or for the right occasion. These items are not used on a regular basis, yet you still feel you need them and cannot give them away or get rid of them quite yet.
Well all of these items may fit in your home if you have limited “extra Levitra items” and if you have a large enough home to accommodate storage and comfortable living, but if they do not all fit, you will probably want a storage space.
You can find local storage places or the closest ones to your home by searching online or looking in the Yellow Pages, etc. You can continue storing per human nature!
