Teen Choice Awards Tickets – ‘Twilight’ and ‘Glee’ Dominate 2010
It shouldn’t be a shock that the hottest tween movie of the last year, The Twilight Saga, dominates the 2010 Teen Choice Awards. Made for teens who have devoured both the novels by Stephenie Meyer and the films starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, both Twilight: New Moon and Twilight: Eclipse have earned a record number of nominations for this year’s teen awards.
With 17 nominations, and 11 for its werewolf star Taylor Lautner, teen fans are confident that a few of the show’s signature surfboards will go home with a favorite fantasy star. Go online today and get you to where your favorite Hollywood celebrities walk down the red carpet. Pick up your own pair of Teen Choice Awards tickets today to experience the show live.
Set to break another record this year, the Twilight series picked up a record 11 of 12 awards at the 11th Annual Teen Choice Awards in 2009, including best drama movie, actor (Pattinson), actress (Stewart), villain (Cam Gigandet), lip-lock (Pattinson and Stewart) and rumble (Pattinson and Gigandet).
This year it might not just be vampires and werewolves that take over the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk in University City, Calif. Chances are the “gleekers” of the Fox hit show “Glee” will be likely to sing their way into a few surfboards of their own following the overwhelming response of its debut season. Nominated for 13 Teen Choice Awards, “Glee” will have little to be sorry about, even if they don’t surf away with a win on Aug. 9.
The hour-long television series starring Broadway veterans Lea Michele, Jane Lynch, Cory Monteith and Matthew Morrison also picked up 19 Emmy Awards this year. “What an amazing year it’s been! I could never have wished for more! Thank you all so much!” Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt and who earned a surprising supporting actor nod, tweeted following the announcement.
“I Kissed a Girl” singer Katy Perry has been revealed as one of three hosts, doubling also as a nominee for Summer Female Music Star against Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha and Rihanna. The future Mrs. Russell Brand will also contend for Summer Song for her Snoop Dogg hit “California Gurls.” The rest of the nods come in all shapes and sizes – from Choice Movie: Fight, Choice Movie: Chemistry Brand Viagra and even a Choice: Twit. Teens ages 13 -19 can vote every day for their favorite film, actor, singer and song in the over 40 categories.
This year’s two-hour event will feature a slew of Hollywood favorites, including the Kardashian girls, Ryan Sheckler, David Archuleta, Kristen Bell, John Cena, Zac Efron, Miranda Cosgrove and Zachary Levi. The show was developed in 1999 as an alternative to Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and created by executive producers Bob Bain and Michael Burg. Today both Burg and Bain still serve as the shows executive producers, with Paul Flattery as producer, Kelly Brock as co-producer and Greg Stills as supervising producer. In its 12 years, the format has remained relatively the same.
