Aviation Tips from Rene Cardona | The Pre-Owned Jet Attraction
Rene Cardona, one of Duncan Aviation’s aircraft transaction experts, says that privately owned jets (also called business, corporate or executive jets and sometimes even bizjets) probably number at between 10,000 and 20,000 worldwide. According to Rene Cardona, speaking from his offices in Lincoln, Nebraska, Kamagra Soft the majority of the privately-owned fleet is based in the U.S.
In his 30 years of aviation sales experience with Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska, he has seen the long lead times associated with new aircraft orders dwindle to a point where new aircraft is starting to become nearly as accessible in terms of time as pre-owned inventory.
While it’s still faster to take delivery of a purchased pre-owned private jet than wait for a new order to be completed, the biggest advantage of used aircraft over new remains the price, says Rene Cardona from his office in Lincoln, Nebraska. He adds that a client who logs about 60 hours in some months, would find that the time advantage of ordering a used aircraft is crucial.
Although he’s based in Lincoln, Nebraska, Rene Cardona has been in the business of worldwide aircraft acquisitions and consignment for three decades and has personally been involved in hundreds of transactions. He’s been seeing a new trend of late: lower acquisition and lower operating costs for new private jets. This trend can only mean more competitive pricing in the pre-owned market, whether at his Lincoln, Nebraska full-service facility or elsewhere.
He sells pre-owned private jets to corporations, individuals, and some governments around the world from his Duncan Aviation base in Lincoln. Price/value is certainly the main consideration for most of his customers, but personal preference matters too. One customer told him that there’s no way that a teleconference can replace shaking hands over a deal; and the only way to do that is in person. For a person whose time is money, a private jet (used or new) is the only viable option.
In 1988 Rene Cardona relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska where he joined Duncan Aviation. Joining the aircraft sales department, Rene Cardona was able to bring the brokerage knowledge gained while in Atlanta, as well as a national base of relationships developed over his years at International Jet Markets. Duncan Aviation’s well-known full services fixed base operation, with an excellent U.S. and international reputation for providing quality services based in Lincoln, Nebraska, was a logical choice and allowed him to settle down and raise a family. He is currently in his twenty-first year with Duncan Aviation.
Rene Cardona’s depth of experience allows him the expert eye of a veteran. The private aircraft industry has changed a great deal over the last three decades. He is a sought-after industry insider and has been given the opportunity to offer his perspective through industry publications on numerous occasions. He has offered his views in Business & Commercial Aviation magazine and most recently he was interviewed in the publication’s soon to be released May 2010 edition, The Planning and Purchasing Handbook. He and several other colleagues from the aircraft broker community offered insight into the current market for used aircraft.
