Need A New Car This Summer? 5 Ways To Grab A Bargain
Some people own their cars for years and only purchase a newer model for fear that their older car will break down on them sooner rather than later.
Other people, however, upgrade their car every year or two, having the need to be driving around in the newest car possible.
Irrelevant of which category you might fall in to, if you need to buy a new car this summer, take a look through these 5 points which are guaranteed to help you grab a bargain.
1. Wait until the end of the summer – just like the vast majority of shops around the country, car dealers will more often than not have an ‘August Bank Holiday’ sale taking place and therefore if you can resist buying a car in July (or even early August) and can wait until the summer is almost over, you’re likely to be able to take advantage of some great offers.
2. Buy after the 20th – if you can buy your car towards the end of the month, do so. The reason behind this is that the later you leave it, the more desperate car salespeople will be to sell you a car so that they can receive their commission bonus that month. Therefore, they are more likely to Brand Viagra offer you additional extras, bonuses and discounts towards the end of the month, so that you buy the car and they receive their bonus, rather than at the start of the month.
3. Have a look online – as more and more car dealers develop websites that not only show off their current stock but also allow you to buy them, it’s strongly recommended that you take a look online rather than heading straight down to, for example, your local BMW or Audi dealers.
You may not receive fantastic bargains on second hand cars online (compared to offline dealers), but if you’re buying brand new from the dealer, it’s possible to save several hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds.
4. Ask for the extras – what a lot of people aren’t aware of about car salespeople is that apart from having the ability to reduce the price of the car, they also have several extras that they can throw in, free of charge, to try and secure the sale.
If you haven’t been offered any extras, regardless of whether you’re happy with the price or not, ask what else the salesperson can give you. Remember, if you don’t ask, you won’t receive and the worst they can do is say they can’t give you anything.
5. Hold out until September – the new car registrations are released twice a year, with the first being in March and the second being in September. Whilst car dealerships, irrelevant of whether they are Audi dealers or Smart dealers, are busy at these times of the year, selling the brand new cars, it’s a great time to go car shopping as the dealers are trying to sell their older cars to make more room for the new ones, which means great deals if you’re looking to buy a car that isn’t brand new.
