A professional dog handler was what she wanted to become early on being able to show dogs in trials and dog shows.

Portraits of other pets like horses are sometimes requested from her. The help she gets from her husband is both tangible and psychological.

He made a table specially designed to hold her paints and brushes. Using the specially crafted easels and display stands she made and stained, she shows her work.

A three by four foot portrait of a Labrador was the largest portrait she ever made.

It is easier to paint smoother dogs than the longer coated ones. Never does she pose the dogs. Dogs cannot easily hold their heads just right.

In observing the animal, she takes an entire hour and this is so that she is able to remember its sheen, the color of its coat, its typical stance, and the evident personality or character traits it may have.

There are lots of people who see her talent when it comes to recording these traits onto a canvas.
