We’re All Going On A Summer Holiday – But Which Car Should We Look To Take?
The recent spate of glorious weather in the UK has made many people hopeful that the coming months are going to follow suit. Early morning sunrises, beautiful sunshine throughout the day and only a shower or two of rain to cool things down are what most are hoping for throughout the summer of 2010.
Due to this reason, there are many people – a substantial amount of who are seasoned summer flyers – who are considering keeping their feet firmly on UK soil and holidaying in their home country in 2010.
Whilst this is a fantastic idea in general, one of the problems that these families come across is that as they are so used to travelling by aeroplane, they don’t have a vehicle that is of a sufficient size to be able make the journey with not only the entire family, but with all of their luggage, too.
Although the simple answer would be to just go out and get a larger car, unfortunately, it isn’t as straightforward as that, for the simple fact that there is such a large variety of suitable cars available in every different price band imaginable.
For example, take a look at the Seat Altea XL. Costing around 15,000 new, depending on which trim level you get, it is an upgraded version of the standard Altea, with the most notable difference being that it is over 7 inches longer.
With this being one of the relatively cheaper large family cars, if you want something at the other end of the market, then check out the BMW X5.
A car that has been met with mixed reviews from critics, generally for the fact some argue it’s not the most aesthetically pleasing car BMW have ever produced, there is no doubt that it does the job and can get you and the whole family – and their luggage – from A to B in the utmost luxury and comfort.
The issue comes when looking at the price tag, as for the standard model alone, you should expect to pay 43,980. But remember, this is just for the standard model – if you want all of the bells and whistles to make your journey even more comfortable – there are models that cost 50,645, 55,080 and 58,175, all depending on how much comfort and style you want to travel in.
And if all else fails – or you simply want to be a bit retro Silagra – you can take a journey to VW dealers and pick up a new VW campervan.
The iconic vehicles of the 1960s and 1970s, they are once again available in VW dealers – albeit this time being a much more reliable model – meaning you can take your whole family back to the summers of the swinging sixties.
If you’re staying in the UK for holidays this year, there are a lot of different options available to you in respect of suitable cars. From extremely affordable compact MPVs to expensive but luxurious SUVs, they might all look different and vary in cost massively, but they all carry out the same purpose of allowing you to have a great holiday in the UK.
