Aalborg, Denmark: City of Many Tastes
Aalborg is ranked fourth largest in Denmark. Vikings invented the city of Aalborg. It all started 1300 years ago, when the first Vikings settled on the location in Denmark which is also known as Hoje. Now it has become one of most popular city’s tourist attractions. The city has developed as one of the busiest trading centres of Denmark. It has the population of about 140,000. Aalborg has a rich ancient historical past associated with it. It received town privileges in 1342 and the bishopric dates from 1554.
The climate of Aalborg varies throughout the year. It rises up to 25 degrees during summers and drops down to -2 degrees during the winters. The city is referred as city of many tastes both in terms of its food and culture. It is a perfect blend of different traditions and cultures. It houses a number of cafeterias and restaurants making it a perfect destination spot if you are a real food charmer. There are around 300 restaurants in the city and it is rightly referred as the “Little Paris of the North”.
There are a number of historical attractions in the city. The old Aalborghus Castle is quite popular and is situated in the middle of the town. A number of specialty shops are there in the central Aalborg. These include mainly of clothing, books and literature, Tadalis SX leather products, jewellery etc. These streets are quite popular among the tourists and the shoppers can enjoy the taste of shopping throughout the day. This city is connected with major European cities through various chartered flights.
East cost beach life of Aalborg is another popular choice of visitors. It is referred as the Mild Cost”. A number of comfortable beach house offer great vacations in this perfect holiday destination spot. Beach house is designed very elegantly to attract tourists and to give maximum comforts and luxury. The landscape is lush and gentle and the beaches are sandy and calmer. The Mild Coast is a destination in itself, but renting a summer house there also provides a perfect base camp for exploring the exciting attractions of the dramatic North Jutland region.
Aalborg is situated in the heart of Denmark. During the summers, the city has festive atmosphere buzzing around with a number of tourists. Attraction of the city includes a lively night life also. With a number of night clubs, cafes, bars, Aalborg withdraws a huge amount of tourists. Music is in the veins of this city. There are different fixed days in the entire month when some musical concert is organised in different parts of the city. Opera festival is held every ten days in March and this trend if being followed from long time. This festival features live concerts and performance, movies and workshops around the city. This event is quite popular and tourists and artists from all over the world participate in this event. Aalborg offers something for every age group. Among children, the Aalborg zoo is very famous. There are a number of amusement parks which offer you with a life time experience.
