You may have heard that gasoline credit cards have a lot to offer. If so, yes, they do! Gas credit cards in my opinion are one of the best cards you can have in your wallet. They have many benefits and actually do a lot for you when it comes to rewards and discounts!

If you’re thinking about a gas credit card, ignore the “I don’t want to add another to my collection”. Yes, it’s not good to have too many cards open, but just listen to how you can benefit! If you’re a wise credit card holder and you’re responsible, you can benefit in these ways:

Build credit: First of all, if you’re still working on getting that perfect credit score, you can help it by using this card. If you use it wisely, that’s more points towards a better score. This gives you even more opportunities to raise it.

Convenience: There isn’t anything better than a credit card when you don’t want to carry around cash or don’t have any money on your debit card that day. You can just swipe and it’s that easy. This is also very helpful when making purchases online. Credit cards are a huge convenience.

Cash back: Also, certain gas credit cards give you amazing rewards through cash back. For example, my Discover Open Road card gives me 5% cash back on all fuel purchases and when I take my vehicle to the shop! Not to mention, some cards gives up to 10% back! The money adds up so quickly over time!

When you get enough, usually $20 worth in cash back, you can redeem for gift cards, money towards your next bill and several other great gifts! This is something I always look forward to! Not many cards gives you prizes or reward you just for using their card. So, if you’re looking for great opportunities to get something back for a change, gas cards usually have the best rewards, cash back programs and best gifts to choose from once you reach a certain level.

Discounts: Another great perk about these cards is that they sometimes do promotions and you can get discounts on other purchases. For example, occasionally I will be able to get 10% back at grocery stores, department stores during Christmas and much, much more. Once again, when you reach that certain amount, you can redeem for several great gifts they offer, even to pay off your bill with the money you’ve saved, how great is that?

Gas credit cards are the best credit cards you can have. They offer so many great rewards, discounts and cash back opportunities. I don’t know of many other cards that will actually let you pay off your bills with the money you’ve saved from cash back discounts. Stop paying so much for gas, and start saving a great percent by using a fuel card. If you use it wisely and pay off your bills in full each month, you will definitely benefit and save over time!
