Boot Camp Is More Effective Than Running For Losing Weight
Boot Camp as the name suggests is an extremely strenuous physical activity. It is a great way of losing weight as the body is never allowed to settle down to a constant or consistent pattern. A boot camp has many advantages over running on a treadmill all alone. Running can keep a person fit and healthy. But if a person is trying to lose weight, running on a treadmill can sometimes prove ineffective. The most important cause for this is boredom. If a person is running all by himself, he will hardly try to run that extra mile. The body stops losing weight if it gets accustomed to a pattern every day.
Running on a treadmill often deprives one of the chances of breathing in the morning freshness. This is one of the greatest advantages of a boot camp where people gather everyday at a common place and head to a nearby open area. Exercising in an open area with a morning breeze keeps a person calm and cool and push towards greater challenges. Running on a treadmill in a closed room can sometimes get stuffy and mundane. Besides, running alone will not get a person anywhere when it comes to losing weight. This is because it doesn’t involve all the muscles in the body.
A boot camp is a great way of having fun and socializing while doing some intense physical activity. This physical activity gets tougher and faster as the overall group lifts itself with every passing day. Most boot camp trainers, pair up members who then take turns to help each other at various exercises like pushups, crunches and even using the kettle bells. A boot camp usually follows a drill of fast and slow paced activities sometimes jumping up and down continuously followed by slow, stretching exercises. These alternate, fast and slow exercises prevent the body from getting too exhausted or heated up and yet increase the number of sets of each exercise that a boot camp member does.
A boot camp brings variety and freshness to the daily regime of a person. Imagine the difference between running on a treadmill in a gym under artificial lighting and running up the slopes of a park in the early morning sunlight. The fresh and pure ambience adds to a person’s zeal and enthusiasm. The effectiveness of boot camps in weight loss lies in the ability of each member to constantly push themselves to run faster, exercise harder and jump higher every single time. This constant increment in the level of training is what helps the body get to proper shape and keep shedding those calories without a break.
Boot camps are often better than running on a treadmill because of the encouragement and support available from the rest of the team. Every person’s improvement is a victory to the camp and hence one has a lot more opportunities to exult as part of a boot camp than when sticking out all by himself on a treadmill where motivation to run faster could be hard to come by.
