How to Keep Fresh Your Baked Goodies Longer
Nothing beats the taste of freshly baked goodies such as cookies, brownies or bread. However, you may not always be able to enjoy them as fresh as they came out of the oven every time you want to. Bakeries would do everything to assure you that the baked goods you get from them are oven-fresh but it happens that they will still go stale and lose their delicious taste once they are exposed to air for some time. Fortunately, there are some things you can do to revive the fresh taste of your cookies and breads at home.

Cakes and bread can be frozen wrapped in a cloth towel. The towel extracts the moisture from the baked goodies thus allowing them to be kept longer in the freezer. Place a wax paper over the first layer and then put more cookies on top. On the final layer, place another piece of wax paper and a piece of fresh bread. Cover the container and keep in a cool, dry place. Replace the bread when it turns stale or hard. Never place the fresh piece of bread directly on your cookies to prevent them from becoming very soft or mushy. If you baked the cookies yourself, cool them completely before storing them in this manner.
You can store fresh muffins in the freezer individually in a plastic bag. In the night before, take out of the freezer the quantity you want for breakfast. Thaw them overnight.
