Klais Germany
You will be forgiven for not hearing about this small town in Germany. In fact you will be forgiven for only being able to find minimal information about this district in the municipality of KrÜn. You will even be forgiven for not knowing that it is located in Upper Bavaria, and is one of the most scenic places on earth. So where, you ask is this place – the one which is difficult to find, and which invites you to enjoy a little slice of heaven? The name is Klais and as mentioned it is a small town in Germany, which, up until very recently, was nothing but a name on a map, a destination to never be thought of again as people made their way through to Mittenwald, the more popular resort destination (and incidentally, famous for its violins).
So, what does Klais have to offer the visitor? Well, besides breathtaking scenes (can you imagine waking up to the sight of the Karwendel mountains every morning?), Klais also affords you a peace and calm that is not to be had in any of the larger resort towns, whilst at the same time, offering you easy access to everything those towns have to offer. And if you find that the delights of Klais need to be combined with that of the larger resorts, you will find that it is but a simple matter of a few hours traveling to get from one place to the next.
However, if you are content to loll around in indolent harmony with nature, without the teeming masses of crowds, you will find that Klais has many things to offer you, such as hiking, cycling, and yes, skiing. Or if you prefer to be more adventurous you can always try your hand at mountain climbing. The Karwendel mountain range offers many options for the person keen on doing some climbing.
There is also some not inconsiderable historic finds in the area. You will find the Hunting Lodge of King Ludwig II; and interestingly enough you will also find the foundations of a Benedictine monastery that is 1200 years old. There is also Kamagra Soft the remains of a Roman road to see.
Interestingly enough, it was not until the late 20th Century that Klais started coming to the notice of tourists. This is due in large part to the fact that until the Garmisch-Mittenwald-Innsbruck railway line was constructed in 1912, Klais was not very well known outside of the immediate district. In fact, until things started picking up the town proper of Klais consisted of the post-office, a tavern (now the Inn Post), a farm, and outlying lodge, and scenic postcard chapel.
It is also interesting to note that the Klais Inter City station was the highest such station in Germany at 933 meters, until its abolition in 2007.
With so much to see and do in and around Klais, you will be hard pressed to want to go and mix with the masses teeming through other such resort towns. You will definitely be better served staying in Klais for the duration of your vacation, and becoming one with the scenic countryside around you.
