Usually leather suites that did not undergo dyeing are the top grade leather suite and purely made with the highest grade animal hide. They are not dyed and contain no blemishes because the makers want them as natural as they can be. This type of leather is called the aniline leather and since it has the natural characteristics of leather, you do not need to add any protection to it.
The next leather grade is the semi-aniline leather. The word “semi” means it is not pure aniline but it is still a leather of good quality. The only difference is the protective coating or color pigments that have been applied to the leather because some customers prefer leather suites with added pigmentation to the leather. The pigment is applied on top of the leather but not leather absorbing the pigment. However, with the addition and thick pigmentation of the leather to make it more attractive, the leather becomes stiffer and this takes away the natural magnificence of the leather. The only advantage with the pigmentation is it helps protect the leather from quickly absorbing spills and stains.

If you desire durable and easy to clean suites, then there are cheaper suites you can also avail but as a word of advice, these are not made from true leather and are not as durable as the leather suite. If you would only change them after few years and then buying another set of the same quality, you could be wasting some money on low quality suites. Leather suites can last you even decades as long as you care for them well.
