Nurses can be considered as the heart of the healthcare industry. Nurse healthcare are two terms that are inseparable from each other. In their day to day life, a nurse dons many roles. A nurse who is very good at his or her job can prove to be a great help both to the doctors and the patients. The nurse healthcare industry, usually works under the guidance and directions of a doctor and is usually in charge of the patients under the supervision of the doctor. The nurse takes the orders of the doctor in terms of the medications and treatments related to the patients. One of the important aspects of being a nurse is to ensure that all the patients are carefully and well examined. The nurse is responsible for looking at the physical condition of the patient and is also responsible for noting down any changes in the patient, either emotional or physical. A nurse in healthcare industry generally devises a care plan for each individual patient and sees to that, the care plan is executed to the fullest.

Since, a nurse is responsible for periodically noting down the vital stats, or any changes in a patient or any medications administered, a doctor relies on the charts filled by a nurse to know about the patient’s present situation. Hence, nurses can even be considered as the eyes and ears of a doctor, without whom, a doctor cannot easily perform his or her duties. A nurse, though under the supervision of a doctor, is mainly responsible for taking utmost care of a patient. It is the duty of the nurse to keep constant supervision on the patient’s progress and immediately notify the doctor, in case of any irregularities or discrepancies. Many major mishaps have been averted by quick witted nurses, who acted on the slightest hint from a patient.

Many individuals have the misconception that nursing is purely a medical role, however, a nurse’s role is not limited just to the medical duties and responsibilities, a nurse has to be a good teacher too, since it is his or her duty to educate the patient about the treatment being received, medication being administered, etc. Thus teaching is also a part of the nurse’s job. There are a lot of exciting career opportunities for experienced nurses in the nurse healthcare industry. For instance, if you are interested in traveling, then being a travel nurse is the perfect job for you, or if you are interested in working for the military, then a military nurse is the job for you, if you are interested in solving forensic cases, then forensic nursing is the option you are looking for, if you like taking care of patients, then you can even choose to become a nursing aide or a visiting nurse, etc.
