This type of marketing industry has 4 players at its heart. You have the merchant, the network, the publisher and the consumer. This market has grown sufficiently to be more and more complex to need a second tier of players. These are affiliate management agencies, super-affiliates and specialized third party vendors.

Affiliate marketing has grown so much that is has worked its way into other ways of marketing too. These methods include some of the following, search engine optimization or (SEO), e-mail marketing, and article marketing.

One thing that will work best with affiliate marketing is to find a topic you know. By doing so, it will help you immensely. You will already have an idea of what you’ll need to know when you start your affiliate marketing approach. Once you have set up a website, you will want to start linking your site to others. The easiest way to do this is to research online other companies that are out there that are willing to pay for you to advertise for them. It is kind of a pay per click option. For each customer that you send to them, you will work out a certain percentage or flat rate amount that you will be paid for. They may not even want customers. They could just want someone to fill out a form, and by filling out that form, it would result in you getting paid.

By starting with something you already know you’ll be more willing to spend more time and energy in setting up your sites and actually doing the work you’ll need to do in order to make this pay out for you. After figuring out what area you want to work with and you have everything linked up, don’t feel bad about linking up several sites at once. Think of it this way, the more you have set up the better off you’ll be. The more traffic you run into, the bigger your paydays will become.
