A great theme can be an excellent starting point for planning a wedding. There are lots of fantastic themes out there, but some are definitely better at one time of the year than at others. After all, a Winter Wonderland theme is marvelous in December, but will seem strange in May. Take a look at these great wedding themes for every season of the year.

Spring: Ah, spring! With the flowers just starting, and the birds chirping, it is a lovely time of year. Play up the beauty of the season with a garden theme wedding. This is a terrific design idea, whether your reception will actually be out in a garden or in an indoor venue. Pastel flowers in abundance, fresh seasonal fruit, and a light menu are all trademarks of a garden style wedding. For the bride, a feminine wedding gown with tiny fabric petals appliqued on it will be both very chic and garden-ready. Hearty foods like stews, homemade loaves of bread, and root vegetables will suit the autumn season, the rustic flavor, and will help to balance out the large amounts of wine on the menu. A chocolate cake decorated with bunches of real grapes and a scattering of flowers will be a great sweet ending to a vineyard wedding.

Winter: Without a doubt, the Winter Wonderland theme is tops for the colder months. It is such an elegant theme, full of winter whites, sparkling crystals, shimmering silver accents, and snowflakes. Despite being a fairly popular theme, it offers enough possibilities that a bride and groom can put together a design scheme that is original and memorable. To really make an impact with the Winter Wonderland theme, start by lining the aisle of the ceremony with towering white birch branches draped with garlands of crystals. From there, add in white flowers for the centerpieces, along with more branches. If a pop of color appeals to you, layer in a few bright red cardinals throughout your reception (such as perching beautifully made feather faux birds on the branches of centerpieces). It will break up the all white scheme and make your Winter Wonderland wedding whimsical and unique.
