What To Eat To Lose Weight

The weight loss industry is a huge one with Americans spending more than 30 billion dollars each year on weight loss products and services. The trouble is that many of these products don’t even work or are only temporary solutions.

Do you know that losing weight can be easy and inexpensive. So do you want to know a better way to lose weight easily? If you do, then go let’s go grocery shopping. I am not kidding you because there are dozens of foods that can help you to lose weight naturally because they control your hunger pangs, kick your sugar addiction and raise your metabolism leading to you to losing those unwanted pounds of ugly unhealthy human lard.

High fiber cereal – Several research has shown that you can control your appetite by eating a bowl high fiber cereal for breakfast. Researchers at the VA Medical Center and the University of Minnesota tested his against the ultimate diet challenge – the buffet spread. The researchers gave their test subjects high fiber cereals before sending them out to the buffet table. The subjects who had the highest fiber cereal for breakfast ate less than those who did not.

Tofu – A study at Louisiana State University tested it against chicken as a pre-meal appetizer for obese women. The result was that the women who had tofu ate less food during the meal. This is because the innocent looking tofu is an appetite suppressing protein. Now you know why Asians, such as the Japanese and Chinese are generally not overweight because humble tofu forms an important part of their diet.

Nuts – Yes, you must be going nuts! Although nuts are high in calories, research shows that people who snack on nuts tend to be slimmer than those who don’t. Perplexing isn’t it? Perhaps not, because a study from Purdue University found that when a group of 15 people of average weight added about 500 calories of peanuts to their regular meals, they consumed less food at subsequent meals. The test subjects also retched up their resting metabolism by as much as 10 to 12 percent. This meant that they burnt more calories even when resting.

Lean beef – Meat eaters will love this! You see, Tadacip the amino acid leucine, which is abundant in proteins like meat and fish as well as in dairy products, can help you slim down while maintaining calorie-burning muscle.

Researchers tested 24 overweight women in a study at the University of Illinois. Eating about 10 ounces of beef a day on a roughly 1,700 calorie diet helped the women lose more weight, more fat and less muscle than a controlled group eating the same number of calories but less protein. The beef eaters also had less hunger pangs. So, go eat your steak! But make it lean beef steak though.

Olive oil – Yup, plain old olive oil can help you lose weight. Olive oil is made up of monounsaturated fat. A research in Australia on 12 postmenopausal women were given a breakfast cereal dressed either with a mixture of cream and skim milk or half an ounce of olive oil and skim milk. The middle aged women who ate the oil laced with olive rocketed their metabolism rate.

Grapefruit – In a 2006 study of overweight folks at the Nutrition and Metabolic Research Center at Scripps Clinic found that eating half a grapefruit before each meal or drinking a serving of grapefruit juice thrice a day helped those folks to reduce more than three pounds of bodyfat over a 12 week period. This is due to the fact that phytochemicals from the grapefruits suppress insulin levels which is a process that may force your body to convert calories into energy instead of being stored as fat cells.

Eggs – Consuming eggs has always been a controversial subject. We will not talk about the controversies in this article, but just on how eggs can help you reduce weight and drop those fats. You see, the humble egg is full of proteins, vitamins and minerals which in turn will help you feeling full longer.

A study of 30 overweight women discovered that those who ate two scrambled eggs with two slices of toast and a low calorie fruit spread consumed less food for the next 36 hours than women who had a bagel breakfast of equal calories.

Salad – An obvious choice? Perhaps. Let me ask you another question. Do you stuff yourself with food when tempted at the buffet table? You do? Then you can control your apetite by starting with a large bowl of salad, however, do watch your salad dressing calories.

In a study at Penn State University, those who ate a big bowl of low calorie salad consumed 12 percent less food thereafter even though they can eat as much food as they wanted. This is because the sheer volume of fibers in a salad makes you feel full. So eating salad before your meal is a natural apetite suppressant.

Green tea – The antioxidants in green tea are called catechins and this is what help speed up your metabolism to burn more fat. In a Japanese study, people who drank a bottle of oolong tea a day mixed with green tea lost weight, raised their metabolism and had a significant drop in their BMI too.

So go and eat to lose weight.
