A Different Kind of Paintball Game

By now you know a few games that can be played in paintball. A few are any game that can be played on a regulation field, usually speedball, the game of capture the flag which is usually played in the woods or called woodsball. Or maybe you have just played with some friends and set up two teams and shot each other until everybody on one team was eliminated. That’s great, but there are several different types of games that can be played using some gear and a paintball gun.

One such game is called Center Flag. Where you set up two opposing teams place a flag in the middle of the field and you either “push” the flag to the opposing teams base or you “pull” the flag to your own base. Either way all of your remaining teams players must return to home base before the game is over. If you are beginning to get bored with the typical games that are played using a marker (paintball gun) then maybe it’s time to explore a few different ones.

Another variation can be to slow things down a bit and only allow each player a certain number of balls. By removing everyone’s hopper and playing with only one shot at a time will require more skill than simply spraying as many paintballs down range as you possibly can. Of course the more paint that you throw down range the more that will stick but this game requires more accuracy and confidence than most others. By shooting only one ball at a time and only having a certain number of balls available to each player everybody has to slow down and focus on accuracy. A great time to play this game is right after playing a really fast game where everyone is tired and needs a rest.

Another popular variation of capture the flag is called Base Capture. Similar rules as capture the flag with a field, two flags and several players. But in order to achieve victory in this game all you have to do is eliminate all of the opposing team members and simply touch their flag. This can be a very fast game and you will find yourself on both offense and defense. And just like any of the other games strategy always wins the day. Of course with base capture or any other type of game you can always make up your own rules before you begin playing.

The thing to keep in mind whether playing woodsball, capture the flag, one shot at a time or base capture is that you can mix them up and use your imagination. You could play any of the capture the flag variations using one ball at a time. Or you could play woodsball until everyone on the opposing team is eliminated. The point is to mix and match your games and use your imagination to create new games. You’ll have more fun and keep from getting bored with your marker if you constantly mix things up a bit.
