A New Kind of Therapy

Engaging in some activities really lightens heavy loads. When you are bottled up inside and you feel really troubled, there is always a way to let it out. Try the following activities, to escape from reality even for a while: Mountain climbing, wall climbing, island hopping, swimming, paintballing, journal writing. Simple things really help you unload your burdens. It helps you get away for some time to pamper yourself now that you might be feeling so helpless. You cannot do anything with the situation, it happened beyond your control. But remember to give yourself a chance to recuperate from the loss and from that so-much-more-than-excruciating-pain you are feeling right now. There is always a way to escape. Be your own therapist, nurse your wounded emotions and medicate that pain. You have no one but yourself to help you through this.

Write everything down, even the most unacceptable emotions you may be feeling right now. It is one therapy for you and it will serve as a reminder in the future of how broken you once were and were able to get yourself back together. It is a record of you falling down and getting up. Read it over and over again, it is a humbling experience to see how low you go for something you love. Then comes, acceptance, and one day, I assure you, you will find yourself laughing while reading that journal – you have recovered. Paintballing gives you the opportune time to let out your anger. And in the paintball field you might just realize friends are out there, you just have to reach out. Get down, dirty, sweat your emotions out and breathe your aches out – take in new air, aim that paintball gun and win the battle this time. You never have to lose all the battles; the paintball field gives you an equal chance of winning. Swimming could be a great outlet too when you want the tears to just flow with the water. Cry your all out and drown your tears with the water, nobody would know but you and that stupid tears. Go island hopping when you want serenity, enjoy the silence and just realize there is heaven after hell. Wall climbing could be a great therapy also, reach higher this time, you have been too low. And mountain climbing, now that you have almost touched the sky, whisper to God to take away all the pain and as you go down – unload your worries and leave it all up to Him.

Pick up the pieces of your old self and put it all together and allow yourself to heal on its own. Having done all these activities could make your load lighter. Time heals all wounds, you are not running away from your problems – you just sometimes have to breathe and take your time. Life is like a battlefield, you have to arm yourself with strong willpower and faith. The rest is taken care of. Believe and you shall be healed.
