Everyone’s Favourite Retro Sweets

We remember the good old days where we would run home from school and stop off at the sweet shop to buy a sugary treats that would no doubt spoil our dinner. We think back to those times with fond memories and wonder whatever happened to the sweets we used to enjoy so much. Well wonder no more as they are still around so you can still relive the nostalgia.

Think back to the sweets you enjoyed the most; things like cola bottles, sherbet fountains, gobstoppers, jelly babies – it’s easy to remember the delicious flavours so it’s perfectly understandable that you’d want to experience them again. The good news is that you’re favourite sweets never went away and you can enjoy eating them once again.

It may not be immediately obvious as to where you can buy these classic favourites, as most of the sweet shops you used to frequent as a child will have long gone thanks to the larger supermarkets driving smaller shops out of business. You will be glad to know that you wont have to trawl your way through the yellow pages in order to find that last sweet shop in the middle of nowhere that hasn’t closed down yet. A simple search of the internet will reveal several online shops which will stock a vast array of different classic sweets.

These shops are usually based from a warehouse and so will have that much more ‘shelf space’ than your average shop, enabling them to be able to supply a wide variety of different sugary treats. This means that not only will they very likely supply the sweets you are looking to buy, but you may be able to discover plenty of new and old favourites.

For those of you who have holidayed or visited America, you will no doubt be aware that they sell a range of sweets that we just don’t go over here. You may be thinking back to that sunny holiday you had when you were younger and remember some of the delicious sweets you found in the shops over there and wondering how you can get your hands on some. Just as there are shops that specialise in stocking classic sweets, there are also shops that specialise in importing drinks and sweets from America that you just can’t get in the UK. It has always been quite tricky to find Mountain Dew in UK shops so it is unsurprising that it’s one of the most frequent requests from these UK importers.

Because these shops are importing sweets from abroad, don’t think that it gives them an excuse to charge extortionate prices; remember that these shops are run from warehouses so they will be able to buy their stock in bulk. This enables them to purchase their stock for less, keeping the end price down.

So it really doesn’t matter if you are looking to spoil yourself with the sweets you remember from when you were younger, or whether you are looking to track down the sweets you enjoyed from holidays past – all you have to do is get online and start shopping for your favourite sweet treats!
