Lip Augmentation Injections

Another option available for lip enhancement is the use of injections. This type is not as expensive and less invasive, therefore quite a more sought after procedure. It also presents lower risk and can be conducted several times to aquire the exact fullness desired by the patient.

Collagens, usually comprising animal tissue especially cow collagen, has effects staying just a few months and may result in some allergic consequence. Dermalogen is collagen prepared from tissue of deceased individuals.

Collagen can also be created from the patient’s own surplus skin. This is called autologous collagen. This, however,requires some skin to be taken out and can only be done where there is available skin from a cosmetic surgical lift operation. But these injections effect for a much longer time and do not trigger any allergic reactions.

Fatty cells taken from other areas of the body by liposuction are also another source of injectibles. These injections remain longer than collagen injections and don’t present any risk of rejection or allergies, but after some time, may have to be redone.

Hyaluronic acid is a tissue that is part of the cartilage surrounding and connection and helps support the skin and other tissues. This tissue diminishes as we age and as injections, replace the lost element and improve lips to become fuller.

This tissue is sourced out from human donors and comes out as HylaForm or synthetically as Restylane and Juvederm. Being an injectable element, this does not give permanent results and would need to be repeated.
