These two spots are mainly for advance level surfers who have a lot of experience with surfing. The rest of the beach also has waves and these are perfect to learn from. The months of November and December bring in the biggest waves which are more than 12 feet tall. Apart from surfing there are other activities like Fishing. Fishing is considered a sport and there are local competitions held to see who gets the biggest catch. So, if you are a fisher, there are many places where you can enjoy. Apart from catching them, Scuba diving and Snorkeling can help you get a closer view at the aquatic life below. Other water sports like wind surfing, kayaking and jet skiing are also present. The shops at the beach have all the necessary equipment for rent, but you are also allowed to bring your own equipments.
Just Take it Easy
If the ocean is not your cup of tea, you need not be disheartened as there are a lot of land activities that you may indulge in. Tamarindo boasts of a thousand acre Wildlife refuge which has a wild assortment of animals and birds that are feast to the eyes. Make sure you look out for Monkeys, Crocodiles and other wildlife. If you are not interested in that either, then you can sit at the beach and enjoy the greatest gift of Costa Rica, The warm sunset.
