So if you do not want to fall into these troublesome situations, you should think of some ways to identify these troublesome customers and turn down their offer even though you can earn a nice profit.

First of all, if you are required to work on something new to you, you must reject. If you make yourself involved to work something new to you, you could hardly provide quality work and this would damage the reputation of your business and yourself too. Therefore, you cannot work in that way because it would bring disaster to your business.

On the other hand, if you find that the length of working time is too long and the deadline is too short, you should not take the project either. As mentioned above, these troublesome clients may change the requirement suddenly and if the original timeframe is limited already, you cannot fulfill the deadline requirement and you would lose money because you cannot finish the project on time. Therefore, if you want to prevent this from happening, turn down the offer at the initial stage.

Last but not the least, you should not work for customers who require you to do something out of your model of business. If you change the strategies to serve this customer, other customers would think that it is not fair to them and they would ask you to do something which goes against the model again. As a result, your business model would no longer exist and your employees would not have a model to follow and this is disastrous. Eventually, your customers and your employees would lose confidence on you and they would not be loyal to you since then. Therefore, you need to know how to say ‘no’ to those nonsense clients and you need to figure out the ways to find these troublesome clients out and reject their offers.
