Looking expansively around the dense and fertile area he called home, the chieftain explained that Guereki was blessed with “Ngou Ti Zapa”, water from the gods. Though the land was untouched for thousands of years, since the very beginning of this natural rain forest, Meerapfel was able to convince the villagers that they should grow “Manga”, the tribal word for tobacco.

When asked to supply his premium wrapper for his first joint venture with the Fuentes’ prime filler and binder, Richard Meerapfel immediately offered his “richness from under the ground” which had been nourished by the water of the gods.
