Fast Weight Loss Diets
Not only do many people want to lose weight, they also want to lose weight fast. And hence out comes many fast weight loss diets promising the quick and easy way to lose weight and looking like supermodels. Many people are willing to pay a lot of money to fix their problems quickly, but they are not aware that these quick-fixed diets are not only ineffective and some of them can be dangerous to their health.
There are many fast weight loss diets that are guaranteed to fail as they are geared towards certain extreme manner of diet. These are known as fad diets as their popularity will quickly wane down, when people realize that the diet they are following is not effective and reliable.
Ironically, fast weight loss diets often leads to fast weight gain. These fad diets are only good while they last and when you stop following the diet plan, you will start to gain weight quickly and often you weight more than when you first started. The following are some of the so called fast weight loss diets or fad diets:
1. Low carbohydrate or low carb diets, as the name suggest, are diets that have low or no carbohydrates. These diets can be dangerous to health as our body needs carbohydrates for energy. Lack of carbohydrates can lead to serious medical conditions.
2. 3 day diets. There are a number of 3 day diets, which promise instant results. Basically they are low calories diets and should not be taken for more than 3 days. The instant weight loss is due the sudden dip in calories intake. Weight loss may be due to some fat but mostly water. The weight loss is not permanent as after the 3 days, you probably will gain back the weight that you lose.
3. Cabbage soup diet. This is a 7 day meal plan comprises mainly of cabbage soup plus other fruits and vegetables and meat is only taken on 2 days. This diet is aimed at achieving fast weight loss and is only for short term. A very boring diet that is difficult to sustain even for 7 days. And after the 7th day, you will probably gain back the weight.
4. In the market, there are certain diet pills that claim to be able to help lose a substantial amount of fat. This is not true as our body can normally only lose two pounds of fat a week. What you are losing in weight is probably water and not fat. This will lead to dehydration of the body, which can cause health problems. If whatever diet pills or concoction that you are taking, makes you feel thirsty all the time. Chances are that you are losing water weight and not fat and that diet pill or concoction is not good for you.
5. Magnetic earrings and bracelets are being sold as weight loss products. Claims that wearing such accessories can increase your metabolic rate and suppress hunger. It certainly does no harm to wear them as a fashion statement but to rely on them for fast weight loss would turn out to be a disappointment.
6.There is a fast weight loss product call slimming soap which is made from Chinese herbs. Touted as being able to get rid of body fats by merely taking a bath. So far, there has been no research to prove that such a concoction of herbs being able to neutralize body fats.
Most fast weight loss diets offer easy and fast solution to lose weight. None of them incorporated exercise into the weight loss plans. To have a good looking body, is not just about diet, there must also be exercise. There is no instant solution, it requires work and determination.
