Gaining Self Confidence

A lot of people struggle from low self confidence. Most of these people feel so low about themselves that it’s holding them back to doing the things they want to do in life. The longer you do not address this issue, the worse things will get. When you don’t have any confidence, you will tend to think poorly of yourself and you would also think that others think poorly of you as well. This kind of mentality will actually affect all the things in your life negatively. The process of gaining self confidence is not easy. It will take some time but the effort and time you spend in doing so will be totally worth it. When you gain self confidence, you will feel better about yourself and your situation in life.

When you have low self confidence, you will tend to tell yourself negative things all the time. The key is to get hold of those negative things you say and turn it around into something positive. It may be hard at first but just keep on trying and eventually, it will become a habit and you will become more positive. Always talk to yourself in a positive way whether these are your affirmations or just thinking positively about the accomplishments that you have. This will help you gain your confidence in yourself. And to think positively of your accomplishments, make a list of them. This will be a constant reminder that you have made a good job and you’re not all about failure. Place it somewhere where you can see it. This list will serve as the positive aspects that you have which will further help you boost your belief in yourself. Start your day by reading this list and read it again before you go to bed. If you’ve had another accomplishment you just got, add in the list. Keep thinking of new positive aspects that you have in your life and keep updating your list.

Whenever you start feeling down again, just remind yourself that everyone goes through hard time in their lives. And you are no exception. These hard times that we go through are only temporary. They only become permanent if we do not do something about them. You have to have the willingness and the determination to overcome the challenges and setbacks that you will face in your life. Do not feel defeated if you failed the first time. That failure will serve as a lesson to you. Learn from it and make sure that you do not do the things that you’ve done before to avoid creating the same mistakes. It is failure that pushes people into depression and insecurities. So, as much as you can, try to avoid situations that would encourage this. Save yourself from the risk of pain and failure and do your best to avoid instances of defeat.

Know your strengths as a person. This will already do more than half the work of gaining your self confidence back. When you know your strengths, you will know what you’re capable of. You will know that you can do a lot of things. And you will know you will reach the things that you’re aiming for. This will boost your self esteem and keep you positive.
